History

The Springbank Heritage Club was incorporated in 1985 and the first shovel for the building was dug in 1986. We are celebrating our 40th Anniversary in 2026.

The founding Members all knew each other and were long-term residents of the Springbank area. The Club became a place of social gatherings, where the sense of community was strong at the many events that took place. Activities expanded to include outdoor games, carpet bowling, curling and corn roasts with a BBQ. The Club had an active RV group, who for several years took many trips even into the States. A singing group was started that quickly turned into Friday Jam Session and sometimes dancing.

The Heritage Club was hard hit by COVID and was basically shut down during that time. The volunteers worked hard to maintain the facilities during this time. Once the Club was reopened, it was different than before, people were less engaged and were wary of going out in public.

Since that time, there has been a resurgence of activity at the Club. The exercise class and pickleball in particular drew many new Members. We continue to expand the activities we offer, more recently adding the Page Turners Book Club and Trivia / Name that Tune night.
